If you want to confuse people then use one or more names for exactly the same thing. For example, as a medical student it took me a long time before I realised that the pyramidal and corticospinal tracts were essentially the same, and not much different—if at all—to the upper motor neurons. And yet 40 years on we still use these terms interchangeably when we talk of upper motor neuron/pyramidal/corticospinal tract signs.
