(A) Fluid attenuated inversion recovery weighted MRI 1 day after admission of a patient with visual disturbance and elevated blood pressure. Changes may be subtle and only reversibility may indicate the nature of the lesion. (B) Follow-up MRI: lesions have resolved thereby allowing distinction between posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome lesions and other lesions such as subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy or unknown bright objects.
