AB An 83-year-old woman presented with an acute onset of foot drop. Whilst the pattern of weakness initially appeared to be most likely due to a peripheral cause, an MR scan of the brain showed a small cortical stroke. This rare phenomenon appears similar to the more widely described ‘cortical hand’.
