It can present with a range of visual phenomena and may be misdiagnosed as migraine or a functional disorder. The list of possible causes is long and includes structural cerebral lesions. We present a clinical case to illustrate the condition before reviewing different palinoptic subtypes and discussing how these may help clinicians to narrow the differential diagnosis.Data sharing not applicable as no datasets generated and/or analysed for this study.
