Neuropsychology assessment

Domain Findings
ObservationSleepy, inactive, hunched over rubbing nose, little change in facial expression.
NeurobehaviouralDifficulties with motivation, drive, initiating and engaging in social interactions.
Cognitive assessment
(RBANS, Hayling and Brixton, VOSP)
Severe deficit (<0.1% of age-matched individuals).
MemoryImmediate and delayed memory <0.2 centile (particular difficulties at encoding stage of memory processing).
LanguageFourth centile. No difficulty accessing word storage. Significant difficulties for self-generated production of language, that is, semantic fluency.
Visuospatial constructionSecond centile. Intact visuospatial awareness and perception but deficits in transferring and constructing visual stimuli.
Executive functioning/attentionAble to attend/concentrate and comprehend but reduced ability to sustain attention/concentration.
Ability to inhibit responsesLow average and poor range of ability to inhibit responses compared with age related peers.
Rule anticipation/following and cognitive flexibilityImpaired range. Considerable difficulty anticipating response and change (also reflected in his difficulty with delayed gratification).
  • RBANS, repeatable battery for the assessment of neuropsychological status, VOSP, visual object and space perception battery.
