Treatment regimen options for different stages of syphilis

Early disease (<2 years, primary, secondary, early latent)(A) Benzathine penicillin G 2.4 million units (MU) intramuscularly stat.
(B) Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 14 days.
Late latent disease (>2 years)
Tertiary, cardiovascular or gummatous
(A) Benzathine penicillin G 2.4 MU intramuscularly, three doses at weekly intervals.
(B) Doxycycline 100 mg orally twice daily for 28 days.
(C) Amoxicillin 500 mg orally four times daily plus probenecid 500 mg orally four times daily for 28 days.
Neurosyphilis(A) Procaine penicillin 2.4 MU intramuscularly plus probenecid 500 mg orally four times daily for 10–14 days.
(B) Benzylpenicillin 10.8–14.4 g daily given as 1.8–2.4 g intravenously every 4 hours for 10–14 days.
(C) Doxycycline 200 mg orally twice daily for 28 days.
(D) Amoxicillin 2 g orally three times daily plus. probenecid 500 mg orally four times daily for 28 days.
(E) Ceftriaxone 2 g intramuscularly or intravenously once daily for 10–14 days.
