The Association of British Neurologists (ABN) Acute Neurology Survey,i published in March 2017, was based on data gathered via ABN members regarding neurology service levels at specialist neuroscience centres, neurology centres and District General Hospitals across the UK.

Availability of neurological expertise and urgent access to appropriate investigations were shown to be highly variable. Headline findings included the following:
